Purpose Statement

The Equipment Owner II (EO II) is responsible for operating machinery and performing routine autonomous maintenance tasks. Is also responsible for ensuring that all standards are being followed in every step of the production process and that the production documentation is completed on time. This position supports Equipment Owner III in assigning tasks to the associates, training, coaching, and recommends other actions as needed.   

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

  • Ensure all associates follow all safety and food safety and quality standards.
  • Responsible for documenting and updating production documentation.
  • Required to operate machinery as necessary while maintaining the performance of the line.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting the equipment and making proper adjustments.
  • Responsible for inspecting the equipment and completing minor repairs.
  • Ensure the necessary materials and supplies are in place before and during production run.
  • Manage the sequence of events for startups, change over and shut down. 
  • Ensures that Standard work, 6S and Quick changeover standards are being followed.
  • Support the AM progression of their line and develop the capabilities to sustain it.
  • Coach General Labor associates and provide regular feedback on their development needs.
  • Monitoring of assigned line’s productivity metrics and product quality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • HS degree or GED required
  • 2 years’ experience in a food-processing, pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing organization, preferably using computerized manufacturing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures and HACCP
  • Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, OSHA standards, product quality (success rates), throughput delivery and cost control (minimizing downtime and waste, optimizing yield)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and spatial aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform minor problem-solving skills to troubleshoot the equipment.
  • Must have sufficient mechanical abilities to complete minor repairs.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and understand complex mathematical equations.
  • Proficient using Microsoft 365 – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBi, and outlook.
