Sanitation Operator/Boot Room - Food Production

PURPOSE STATEMENT

Maintain building and designated areas in clean sanitary condition as directed by an established Sanitation Program, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Housekeeping Practices for Industrial Food Processing. Conduct general cleaning to maintain the building, the boot room and equipment clean by following SSOPs.  Manage the boot program for temporary associates while closely working with day shift management.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  1. Complies with all Safety, GMP, Quality, Plant Policies and other Associate and food safety requirements.
  2. Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
  3. Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping and sanitary conditions in welfare areas, boot room, outside grounds and potentially breakroom and lavatories, as needed. 
  4. Responsible for boot cleaning and sanitizing assigned for 2nd shift.
  5. Responsible to keeping the temporary associates boot area organized per size. 
  6. Provide guidance and support to all associates and temporary workers with their boots.  
  7. Maintains and manages smock supply during first shift and second shift start up.
  8. Responsible for operational sanitation support (e.g. Sanitation After Maintenance) during 2nd shift ensuring SSOP’s are followed.
  9. Mixes chemicals in proper ratio for cleaning of process equipment and facilities.
  10. Use of hand tools for disassembly and reassembly of production equipment for cleaning.
  11. Observe and report damaged equipment and unsafe conditions to management.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  1. Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
    1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Skills Required:
    1. Must be a team player.
    2. Must be able to work in a cold or hot environment.
    3. Must be able to work all shifts.
  3. Self-starter.
  4. Able to work with minimal supervision.
  5. Considerable amount of standing, walking, use of hands.
  6. Detailed Oriented.
  7. Time management skills.
