Purpose Statement

The purpose of the Sanitation Operator is to maintain building and all plant equipment in clean sanitary condition as directed by an established Sanitation program, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Housekeeping Practices for Industrial Food Processing. Conduct general cleaning to maintain the building and equipment clean by following SSOPs.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

  • Complies with all Safety, GMP, Quality, Plant Policies and other Associate and food safety requirements.
  • Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Detail cleaning by rinsing, washing, scrubbing, and sanitizing of plant production equipment, floors and structural components following appropriate SSOP.
  • Must clean all assigned areas which include low and high areas requiring the use of a ladder.
  • Complete job conclusion reports using Kleanz software. 
  • Use of hand tools for disassembly and reassembly of production equipment for cleaning.
  • Observe and report damaged equipment and unsafe conditions to management.
  • Be able to use the chemical and clean allergen lines 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

1.    Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
    a.    High School Diploma or equivalent. 
2.    Skills Required:
    a.    Must be able to Read, Write and Speak Basic English. 
    b.    Must be a team player.
    c.    Must be able to work in wet, cold, and hot environments. 
3.    Self-starter.
4.    Able to work with minimal supervision.
5.    Considerable amount of standing, walking, use of hands.
6.    Detailed Oriented.
7.    Be able to manage the time to complete the assignment with schedule frame time without affecting production startup. 
8.    Able to work on the weekend if it’s required.
