Purpose Statement
The Maintenance Planner schedules preventive maintenance and work orders/ requests for the facility using CMMS(SAP). This individual will work with Maintenance Leads and the Production Manager for planning of work against a forecasted budget and location goals.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
Manage and maintain the site CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) which is SAP.
Schedule preventative maintenance, issue work orders.
Schedule time, material and resources for preventative, predictive and reactive work on the production floor. These resources may be external as in the case of an outside vendor performing calibrations, roof work, etc.
Continuously improve PM effectiveness through optimizing work, detail, frequency and parts required.
Process PM procedures submitted by the Engineering and Maintenance management. Enter information into the CMMS/SAP system. Generate and issue weekly preventative maintenance work orders to the maintenance team.
Process new equipment into the system as it is received. Includes serial numbers, warranty information, cost of equipment, setting up proper preventive maintenance procedures, LOTO procedures, safety check sheets, and equipment identification tagging.
Lead and participate in group teams for continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with coordination of procurement records such as items or services purchased costs, delivery, product quality, and inventory.
Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take appropriate corrective action.
Work closely with MRO Buyer for parts buying and act as a backup for the Buyer position
Plan work against a forecasted budget.
Work with other Departments to ensure that the Plant maintains its BRC level
Receiving of parts and performing cycle counts
Build accurate/complete BOM’s to improve SAP and to use the information for the proper kitting of parts for mechanics.
Participate in weekly production planning meetings with departmental representatives.
Participate and take an active role in safety committee meetings
Creates & Updates as needed spreadsheets, reports requested by various departments for tracking & information purposes.
Ensures all maintenance documents, Chemical List, Vendor Information, Contractor Information, service reports, work packs, DWS, Contamination Log, PM completion, Downtime, completed work orders & safety work orders and any and all other documents are readily available for review for company audits.
Occasionally picks up/delivers parts for Maintenance and other departments
Proactive in bringing ideas for improvements in: machines, parts, and procedures.
Participate in daily Sanitation meetings with Trios and other area supervisors to confirm the timing of PMs and daily deep cleans.
Attend and complete any RPC sponsored training.
Learn and participate in required TPM activities.
Provide coverage in other departments when needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum of 2 years previous planner/parts coordinator experience in a manufacturing facility.
Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal English.
Must have the desire and ability to operate as a member of a Self-Directed work team.
Have an awareness of and the ability to follow Associate Safety guidelines.
Have an awareness of and the ability to follow GMP and Food Safety guidelines.
Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement and Temporary Teams, as assigned.
Must be able to multi-task.
Excellent computer skills and experience in extracting and analyzing data using information systems reporting tools such as Excel. Efficient with all Microsoft Office products. Experience using SAP.
Proven strong technical Knowledge
Working knowledge & experience using CMMS systems for planning purposes.
Communication Skills: must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the workforce English.
Planning/Organizational Skills: must have the ability to effectively prioritize tasks that align to changing business needs.
Ability to work various shifts as needed
Ability to work as a team player.
Self-motivated, able to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making.
Professional and reliable with strong organizational and communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate degree of physical activity and coordination required.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Continuous sitting and frequent walking, standing.
Work in moderately loud environment.
Works near moving mechanical parts.
Vision requirements: Requires distance vision, color visions, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
Must wear appropriate PPE and GMP when needed: protective eyewear (when needed), non-slip footwear, hair net, beard net (if applicable), nitrile food-grade gloves.
