Purpose Statement
This position is responsible for making trailer moves as needed for the plants and warehouse and loading and billing frozen finished goods.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
- Move trailers in and out of doors, between plants, and offsite warehouse as needed
- Maintain truck and trailer inspections as per DOT requirements
- Maintain Samsara truck equipment and log-in, usage requirements
- Fuel trailers, monitor reefer temperatures for trailers onsite
- Maintain driver CDL and DOT certifications to keep current with all records.
- Load shuttles & outbound shipments and create accurate BOLs and shipping records.
- Observes all safety rules and regulations. Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and Safety Guidelines
- Ensure that products are rotated and shipped in proper rotation to support the Food Safety Program.
- Identify, address, and notify Team Leader of vehicle, trailer, equipment, product, or processing problems in a timely manner.
- Be active in communication with the plants and warehouse for trailer movement needs.
- Maintain forklifts by performing daily routine safety and operating inspections.
- Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness of freezer, storage, and staging areas.
- Perform other job-related duties assigned by Team Leader
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- This position requires a current Class A CDL and DOT card
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must possess basic math and computer skills
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Has an awareness of and the ability to follow GMP, Food Safety, and Associate Safety Guidelines.
- Must have knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize when needed.
- Must be able to work independently as needed with limited on-site leadership.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Will be required to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing, climbing, reaching, stooping, pulling, pushing, grasping, and balancing as part of production activities on the floor. Will be required to see and hear well enough to understand Associates questions and respond to their concerns. May be required to work in freezers, near noisy machinery, near confined spaces as part of daily production activities.
- OT and schedule adjustments as needed to ensure driver-specific coverage.
