Purpose Statement
Responsible as assigned for safely running different types of mixers, packaging equipment, tables machines, dividing and sheeting/molding machines that meet customer specifications, ensuring food defense and quality requirements.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
- Relieves associates from various production positions in plant from Grade I to Grade III level positions. Must be knowledgeable to operate any positions within these Grades
- Sets up and changes over all equipment to meet customer specifications.
- Conducts pre-op inspections as required to ensure food safety, equipment readiness.
- Operates Mixers, Case Erectors, Conveyors, Metal Detectors, Electronic Bulk Scales, Uncuffers, MLO, Case Sealer and Coders as assigned (required to perform all Grade II and III production jobs)
- Pack dough products into pre-made boxes as required.
- Hand loads, weighs, measures ingredients for the mixing process.
- Operates a variety of plant equipment and must be able to make appropriate adjustments to said equipment as needed.
- Operates crane hoist systems to load divider hoppers
- Dumps dough into hoppers from dough troughs as required
- Controls piece weights using MLO
- Fills flour and toppings hoppers
- Maintain all document as required
- Maintain all quality checks as required
- HACCP – perform required metal detector tests – document results and corrective actions if required. Take immediate corrective actions when metal detector requests product and notify leaders.
- Monitor all equipment, take corrective actions and get help as needed to maintain equipment in good operating conditions.
- Keep work area clean, maintain 6S standards.
- Communicate and work with all associates.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Special certification may be required for use of forklift and chemicals
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate computer programs as needed
- One year experience in a manufacturing/ industrial environment
- Medium to high degree of judgment required
- Basic math skills necessary
FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all GMP’s, food safety, and quality policies.
- Ensures all GMP and all Food hygiene and Food safety standards are in compliance.
- Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen, or magnet deficiencies, glass breakage, and pest harborage.
- Ensure compliance in the areas of food defense, food regulations, and product / process quality; provide adequate coaching as needed.
- Record accurate and legible results on documentation
- Provide adequate housekeeping at all times.
The physical capabilities an associate must have to perform the essential functions of this position are:
- Moderate degree of physical activity on a frequent basis
- Must be able to lift 55bs
- Repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, climbing, reaching, and moving about the facility
- Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements. Works in high noise area and wears the appropriate hearing protection.
- Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Exposed to cold/ heat/ humidity
- Able to work a multi shift environment
