Operator - Robotics Pack - 3rd Shift

Purpose Statement

Monitors, controls, and maintains proper operation of the robotic and automated packaging systems, case sealer, uncuffer, metal check, and date codes in the bread and pizza packing area; meeting customer specifications and ensuring food defense and safety.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

Set-up, change over, adjust, service, and operate robots, case uncuffer, and case sealer, and any other related equipment on line.
Maintain date code printers, robots and all related equipment to keep in proper running condition.
Adjust conveyors and guides on conveyors for various size product cases.
Inspect and adjust metal detectors for proper operation.
Assist Production Department in labeling and rework of products.
Develop and implement new change-over procedures to improve packing efficiency.
Perform periodic equipment inspections to identify worn parts or malfunctions requiring maintenance support.
Perform all proper documentation and recording of data.
Ensure proper supplies are in appropriate areas to prevent down time.
Maintain work area in compliance with GMP and BRC food safety standards
Work shift is 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week, and overtime as required.
Ability to work overtime has been and always will be an Essential Function of this position.
Regular and consistent Attendance has been and always will be an Essential Function of this position

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
High School Diploma or GED required
Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate computer programs as needed
One year experience in a manufacturing/ industrial environment
Medium to high degree of judgment required
Basic math skills necessary
Follow all GMP’s, food safety, and quality policies.
Ensures all GMP and all Food hygiene and Food safety standards are in compliance.
Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen, or magnet deficiencies, glass breakage, and pest harborage.
Ensure compliance in the areas of food defense, food regulations, and product / process quality; provide adequate coaching as needed.
Record accurate and legible results on documentation
Provide adequate housekeeping at all times

The physical capabilities an associate must have to perform the essential functions of this position are:

Moderate degree of physical activity on a frequent basis
Must be able to lift 55bs
Repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, climbing, reaching, and moving about the facility
Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements. Works in high noise area and wears the appropriate hearing protection.
Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
Exposed to cold/ heat/ humidity
Able to work a multi shift environment
