Purpose Statement
Shift: Friday thru Sunday 5am to 6:30 pm
The Batcher follows established formulas and plant procedures. Performs duties of pre scaling minor ingredients. Able to read and comprehend operation procedures and to fill out necessary paperwork during performance of the job.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
- Must provide physical attendance in a Long-Term Assignment
- Availability to work extended hours, weekends, or adjusted shifts as needed.
- Operates mixers, scales, and mixer related systems.
- Operates mixer control timers.
- Prepares and labels premixes. Check premixes to ensure correct premix formula and weight. Prepares and adds various, manually scaled, non-premix ingredients to a mixer.
- Adjusts formulas within given formula parameters.
- Controls temperature and consistency.
- Look over batching schedule and Scada to ensure no changes to the schedule.
- Within given parameters, make quality decisions to minimize waste and sub-standard mixes.
- Performs equipment and GMP inspections prior to equipment operation. Fills out required inspection forms, mix sheets and other production documentation as required.
- On all lines performs required plant safety inspections and participates in safety, GMP, Process Improvement teams, and other plant related committee and team meetings.
- Complies with all safety, GMP, plant policies, and other associate and food safety requirements.
- cleaning the tanks and working with chemicals.
- If qualified and trained, able to perform duties of light machine operator or general labor.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
- All job responsibilities and tasks as assigned by your leader or manager as needed.
- Will be required to train in other areas of the plant as required by the Skillblock program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 Years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates and percentages)
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate computer programs as needed.
- Must be able to read and understand any forms or documents to be filled out.
- Must be proficient in Rich’s SCADA system, TPM, Patrol Suite and Galaxy system.
- Thorough understanding of food safety basic and associate safety basic practices.
- Must have a high a level of manual dexterity.
- Ability to work safely around equipment
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull mixing bowls as needed.
- Must be able to deal with change, pressure and exercise good judgment skills
- Must have desire and ability to operate as a member of a Self-Directed work team
- Must have ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement, and Temporary Teams as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to take directions and follow instructions
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude; cooperate with co-workers, management, internal and external customers, as applicable
- Moderate degree of physical activity
- Daily activities include walking, standing, climbing, reaching, twisting, stooping, grasping, bending, pushing, pulling and moving about the facility.
- Works in high noise area, hearing protection may be required. Hearing ability to meet Manufacturing facility safety requirements
- Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral and depth perception
- Requires lifting not to exceed 55 lbs.
- Exposed to cold/ heat/ humidity
- Able to work a multi shift environment
- May handle potentially hazardous equipment or material
- Will be required to work around bakery ingredients as part of daily activities
COMPENSATION
In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.
Annual Range/Hourly Rate
$18.00 - $27.00
