PURPOSE STATEMENT

Fresh Fish Processor:

Regularly process fresh and frozen fish by hand or machine per customer orders, specifications or to replenish company inventory needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Package fresh and fresh frozen fish to be shipped or stored for further processing
  • Assist in filling customer orders daily and also packaging orders to be distributed on company trucks and/or shipped via airfreight carriers, Federal Express, UPS, Speedy and miscellaneous carriers
  • Assist in receiving product shipments and assuring and maintaining product integrity by icing/re-icing, correctly rotating and labeling stock
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of work area
  • Assist with inventory maintenance as needed/requested (regular inventory counts, etc.)
  • Consistently practice and support all safety rules and guidelines
  • Be flexible and assist in other areas of the company as needed/requested

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have good hand/eye coordination
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team atmosphere
  • Must be able to understand and act on verbal communication
  • Must possess good primary math skills
  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours (with breaks)
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks preferred
  • Ability to Identify product species and various forms of product by sight is not essential, but would be considered a plus
  • Proficiency in using fillet knife and knife safety is not essential, but would be considered a plus

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (especially food processing) and/or related field preferred
