PURPOSE STATEMENT

**This role will be driving in the Metro NYC Area to our current customers.  There is no set route as this is a relief role**

 

As a Relief Route Sales Representative (RSR), you will be responsible for the direct store delivery of quality products to our various accounts. This includes all aspects of store and customer service, products handling and transportation and communication. The position will be filling in for scheduled vacations, unexpected absences and provide additional route coverage. When not training or learning each the routes, the Relief Driver may be required to provide warehouse support.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
  • Provide vacation, sick time and floating holiday relief for the route sales representatives providing a seamless delivery experience for the customer when working on a route. 
  • Ride-A-Longs to assist RSR’s as determined by Manager. This will provide support for heavier days, sales efforts and new product placement.
  • Builds and maintains positive, productive relationships with operations personnel, bakers and owners, resolving product or service problems promptly and ensuring excellent customer relations.
  • Product quality: Insure our customers are educated on proper rotation, temperature management and product quality.
  • Operational responsibilities: Plan route in ways that minimize mileage and in transit time. Looking to minimize variable expense and fuel costs
  • Sales goals: Constantly look for ways to expand sales with new items, new programs and new customers. Communicate leads with manager and sales team. Monitor competition by gathering information on other products, prices and delivery schedules. 
  • Learn all products sold by Instantwhip New York and how we sell each of them.
  • Manages and accurately tracks inventory of product on delivery truck. Works with warehouse and office staff to resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensures safety by completing pre-trip safety and maintenance inspections, and maintaining truck as required, completing preventative maintenance and advise management of needed repairs.
  • Loads and unloads product from delivery truck , handling product carefully to ensure continued product quality

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Valid DOT Card
  • Route Sales/Delivery experience
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Possess solid general computer, math and analysis skills
  • Flexible and able to work with others as a team
  • Professional, courteous, reliable, and mature, with outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • Punctual and reliable in their work attendance
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making
  • High School Diploma or GED

Physical Abilities:

  • Extended standing and driving required
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb in and out of truck over a 8 to 10 hour period
  • Ability to control a loaded hand truck while going down stairs at a customers location.
