Summary applying general accounting principles to the full-cycle accounts payable and receivable functions


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Accounts Payable – Essential Functions:

  • Reviews and processes all invoices for approval prior to payment; coordinates packing slips with invoices, researches any discrepancies in receipts or cost, and posts charges to correct finance account.
  • Investigates queries and timely responds to all vendor inquires.
  • Receives personnel expense reports, verifies accuracy, and receives manager approval for processing.
  • Processes Check and ACH runs twice a week.

Accounts Receivable – Essential Functions:

  • Processes and distributes daily invoices for all sales orders; maintains customer promotional accounts and issues credit memos as needed.
  • Applies payments to customer accounts; makes daily deposits.  
  • Contacts delinquent customers via collection calls; verifies billing as well monitors aged trial balance.
  • Responsible for calculating Broker Commissions and Customer Rebates.

Assists with related special projects, as required.

  • Associate Accounting or Business degree required. Three or more years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts receivable/general ledger systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Email System.
  • Proficiency in ERP System, Microsoft Navision helpful.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to organize and work independently and within a team.
  • Maybe asked to work overtime occassionally during peak seasonal times.
