PURPOSE STATEMENT

Within the guidelines of authorized corporate policies, procedures and programs, the Sanitation Team Leader supervises a unit responsible for monitoring and ensuring proper sanitation throughout the facility. The Team Leader recommends improvements in manufacturing methods and sanitation practices to management.

 

**This role is 2nd Shift**

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
  • Coordinates plant sanitation activities to ensure all plant equipment is clean and safe for production. Ensures the team’s compliance to all standard sanitation operating procedures. 
  • Ensures compliance to the Plant’s Master Sanitation Schedule coordinating work schedules with Temporary workers and Plant’s sanitation team.
  • Mentors and motivates associates, providing training and development opportunities to optimize their performance and personal growth.
  • Manages and updates as needed the SDS data books and log sheets to meet OSHA regulations for both facilities.
  • Communicates performance standards to associates, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments and counseling performance problems.
  • In cooperation with sanitation associates and cleaning suppliers, adapts documents and sanitation procedures related to new approved cleaning chemicals and cleaning schedules 
  • Monitors pest control program, including periodically checking weekly Rentokil reports and traps.
  • Monitors microbiological reports and becomes familiar with Micro procedures to determine whether cleaning procedures are being followed.
  • Manages KLEANZ (A Sanitation scheduling program software) providing direction for the sanitation associates, 3rd party temporary workers and Op’s associates regarding cleaning tasks/MSS monitoring completion of worksheets, reporting results weekly, and becoming proficient in the program.
  • Participates in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvements. 
  • Constantly updates knowledge of the Sanitation Program and its Operation to assist management in problem resolution. 
  • Assists in establishing departmental goals and timetables to meet budgets and project guidelines. 
  • Organizes and directs weekly GMP, Food Safety, Sanitation and Safety inspections throughout the production department and other plant areas corrects on the spot or issues work orders to correct any identified deficiencies. Follows up on work orders with the appropriate department management personnel Associates to ensure prompt completion of the requested work.
  • Keeps abreast of latest manufacturing technologies, systems, and sanitation practices.
  • Performs other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Rich Products Corporation's business objectives.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Associates Degree/ BA/BS degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Operations, Food or Environmental Science, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in a food-processing, pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing organization preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of sanitation or Quality Assurance processes in a food, chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, food allergens and pest control.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates as well as plan, monitor and schedule work.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and spatial aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble sanitation and production equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand basic mathematical calculations including basic statistical analysis.
  • Proficient using Excel or other spreadsheet software.
