PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Packaging Graphics Engineer I is a professional entry level role responsible for developing, testing and implementing current business package design, quality, cost and improvements critical in: delivering packaging improvements, ensuring quality/cost & spec’s of packaging, key to vendor interface.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Assists in the creation and delivery of the packaging solutions (Compnay initiatives) for roadmaps for assigned categories, working in close collaboration and coordination with the business to complete projects in an efficient and effective manner.  
  • Conducts new product / technology/cost savings sessions with key current and potential (known) suppliers
  • Work closely with plants to address quality issues as they arise
  • Maintains “new packaging” database/ sample (knowledge for future projects) for assigned categories
  • Monitors / manages packaging lifecycle
  • Provides input into Supply Chain
  • Responsible for accurate packaging specification content
  • Assumes a subject matter expert role in one or more packaging materials

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Packaging Engineering preferred or related field with 1-3 years’ experience (internship experience included)
  • Proficientcy level of intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Demonstrated ability in being a fast learner and able to assimilate new software, procedures and techniques as they are constantly introduced in this environment
  • Demonstrated ability handling multiple assignments concurrently, possessing excellent organizational and time management skills, and being able to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability being proactive with ability to anticipate, initiate, and prioritize
  • Demonstarated ability working with minimal supervision, exercise initiative and judgment, and make decisions within the scope of assigned authority is required
  • Demonstrated ability working with a variety of levels of with an organization and customers
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills including basic presentation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
