Purpose Statement

As a Product Manager, Category Business Unit, you are responsible for leading a product category. The role includes planning the strategic direction for the assigned category as well as driving product lifecycle management, establishing pricing strategy, developing marketing plans, new product/platform roadmaps, financial management and overall responsibility for delivering business results.  Scope of work driven by size, complexity and strategic role of the category.

 

This professional will be required to work a hybrid work schedule and can be based at our Saint Simons, GA or Buffalo, NY office. 

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

Product Management

  • Product Development and Improvement focusing on Rich’s retail appetizer portfolio: execute innovation/renovation activity against plan
  • Product/Segment Knowledge:  “Expert” on retail appetizer category/segment (understand operational capabilities, technical aspects, uses, customer positioning)
  • Provide input into the demand plan
  • Provide support and solutions to the Product Supply Chain
  • Make pricing recommendations on new products and general price increases based on value
  • Problem solve inventory/spoilage issues
  • Recommend SKUs for rationalization and execute

Understand the Market

  • Consumer/Customer/Industry understanding, target markets and segments for category
  • Understanding competitive set/competitive assessment/market quantification and analysis
  • Perform Category Discovery work to generate new products and platforms within appropriate target segments
  • Drives voice of customer and consumer and translates into business opportunities

Leadership

  • Vision/Strategy:  Drive category/segment/customer plans and execution according to it’s strategic role within the Division to achieve divisional volume and profit targets (including responding to trends, portfolio mapping, innovation/renovation activity)
  • Provide cross-functional team leadership/project management
  • Maintain consistent communication with sales, market research and other resources to develop insight into emerging focused trends and translate into business opportunities

Marketing Management

  • Manages value proposition within the assigned category
  • Collaborates with Brand Marketing partners on Farm Rich brand strategy

Financial Acumen

  • Owns and manages the assigned category P&L
  • Identifies issues and opportunities to maximize profitability
  • Understands product cost structure
  • Develops and manages gaps and contingency plans as required
  • Develop and manage appropriate budget for assigned category

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in marketing or related field required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a marketing role
  • Demonstrated financial skills to include P&L analysis and other analyses
  • Solid communication skills to include verbal and written capabilities; strong presentation ability
  • Experience in CPG or food industry a plus
  • Strong proficiency to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Leverages AI tools and emerging technologies to accelerate insights, improve decision-making, enhance productivity, and drive marketing effectiveness
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as needed

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

 

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$102,525.00 - $153,788.00
