As part of this initiative, our world-class Research & Development team has undergone a significant reorganization and is now known as Research, Innovation & Compliance (RIC).
 
The RIC team is expanding and we’re currently looking for a Technical Writer - Food Safety & Quality Assurance.

In this role, you will develop content related to Rich’s Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Quality Engineering policies.

We are happy to consider remote candidates, with expected travel of 10%

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

  • Write, edit, and maintain Food Safety, Quality Assurance , and Quality Engineering policies, standards, operational procedures, and manuals
  • Research and translate technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for both technical and non-technical users.
  • Produce clear, concise, and high-quality documentation that meets the applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather technical information and then create accurate, consistent, and comprehensive content.
  • Create and maintain process maps, flowcharts, and other schematic representations of processes. This includes understanding the process from a technical perspective and being able to communicate it clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop diagrams, charts, graphs, and visuals that increase the end user’s understanding of the subject matter.
  • Work closely with the Quality and Safety teams to ensure that the outputs accurately represent the processes and standards required. This includes organizing regular peer review meetings and feedback sessions to review and revise the materials as necessary.
  • Coordinate the review, approval, and update of materials according to regulatory changes in different regions (USA, Europe, Asia).

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Food Science and preferably also Quality Engineering and Lean. You will have an understanding and experience of regulatory requirements in the USA, Europe, and Asia. In addition, the technical writer will have the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or relevant related subject; or a Bachelor’s degree in English/Writing/Technical Communication with relevant food science industry experience.
  • Practical industry operational experience in FSQA or a similar role with demonstrated experience in the application of FSQA policies and standards.
  • Proven experience writing technical content relating to Food Safety and Quality Assurance or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with Quality Engineering standards, as well as Food Safety regulations.
  • Practiced in organizing meetings with subject matter experts to gather and translate technical content
  • The ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in both text and visuals.
  • Experience organizing and leading document peer reviews, as well as experience with and document and change control.
  • Excellent writing skills in English.
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Visio, and other tools for producing diagrams, charts, and graphics.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks and meet deadlines with the desired outcomes of the organization.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous business or technical writing experience.

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

 

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$79,645.00 - $107,755.00
